Course intelligence

What Pines asks from the long game.

Course dossier

The course adds more distance and sustained pressure than Dunes while using the same extensive practice setting and on-resort convenience.

The course, read before play

01

18 holes, par 72, 6,413 m

Pines is the longer of Sueno's two 18-hole courses. Four principal tee colours allow the round to be adapted, with current handicap limits and active tees confirmed by the club.

02

International Design Group

The official course description uses a Scottish parkland reference within Belek's pine landscape. Fairway movement, natural-style bunkering and water create a visually coherent championship test.

The complete course brief

The championship anchor of Sueno's 36-hole complex

Sueno Pines is the longer par-72 course within the Sueno golf estate. At 6,413 m, with extensive bunkering and the shared system of artificial lakes, it asks for stronger driving and approach control than Dunes while retaining the convenience of the same clubhouse and practice complex.

01

01 / Course identity

A full championship test shaped by sand, water and length

Pines is the stronger long-game examination within the Sueno pair.

Its 6,413 m card and extensive bunkering demand reliable driving, while artificial lakes influence both visual confidence and approach strategy. The course feels more substantial than Dunes without abandoning the resort setting.

SirGolf positions Pines as a programme anchor for confident groups. Tees are selected so the championship features remain strategic rather than turning repeated carries and long approaches into slow survival.

Championship player

Build around clean approaches

Use position to remove bunkers and attack only when the landing angle supports it.

Mixed society

Separate tees without separating the day

Keep reliable carries fair and preserve the same strategic sequence.

Sueno stay

Play Dunes first

Use the shorter course to learn conditions before Pines applies full pressure.

02

02 / Playing plan

Avoid fairway sand and accept the correct side of the green

With 128 published bunkers, sand avoidance is a central scoring skill.

Players should identify the bunkers that define the landing zone rather than reacting to every visible hazard. A controlled tee club can leave a longer but cleaner approach. On par fives, the second shot should be chosen to remove cross-bunkers and water from the preferred wedge line.

Green targets need discipline. The safest section may leave a long putt, but a miss into deep sand can cost more than distance. SirGolf's first-round plan favours position until the player understands bunker firmness and surface speed.

03

03 / Championship pressure

The course asks for sustained execution rather than isolated heroics

Pines accumulates demand through long-game repetition and defended scoring zones.

A strong opening does not remove the need for patience later. Players should manage energy, hydration and pace, particularly when wind increases the effective distance. The reliable swing usually outperforms the occasional ambitious shot.

For mixed groups, separate tees are important. The goal is not to make every golfer play the same yardage, but to let everyone encounter the same design logic within a fair carry range.

04

04 / Sueno preparation

Use the large shared range to establish carry and bunker contact

The published practice complex includes a 300 by 120 m range, 50 grass stations, 40 mats, a 3,500 sq m putting green and 1,700 sq m chipping area.

That scale supports a proper championship warm-up. Players should confirm driver carry, a fairway finder, long-approach club and bunker strike before moving to the first tee.

SirGolf confirms range access, balls, academy, buggy conditions, starting point and hotel movement. Facility availability and maintenance can change, so the practice plan remains tied to the current tee-time confirmation.

05

05 / Programme role

Let Dunes introduce the estate before Pines raises the demand

The two Sueno courses work best when their different roles are explicit.

Dunes offers shorter tactical questions and wedge control; Pines extends the examination through length and bunkering. Playing Dunes first can familiarise the group with wind, water and greens before the championship day.

Pines also pairs well with a mature woodland course to vary the visual frame. SirGolf avoids placing it beside another long, bunker-heavy test unless the group specifically wants consecutive championship days.

06

06 / SirGolf view

A serious home-course choice for stronger resort golfers

Sueno Pines suits low and mid handicaps, societies using multiple tees and travellers who want a demanding course at their hotel base.

High handicaps can still enjoy it from the right markers, but an unsuitable common tee will magnify length and pace problems. Dunes may be the better social round for part of the party.

SirGolf confirms tees, range, buggies, maintenance, course allocation and hotel benefits for the exact date. Published bunker counts and distances describe the design; live conditions determine the day's true demand.

Questions before booking

Practical answers, without brochure assumptions

What is the difference between Sueno Pines and Dunes?

Pines is the longer par-72 championship course at 6,413 m. Dunes is a shorter par-69 tactical layout at 5,643 m.

How heavily bunkered is Pines?

Current official Sueno information highlights 128 bunkers. Their strategic importance depends on tee, wind and the selected landing line.

Can higher handicaps play Pines?

Potentially, subject to current club policy and sensible tee selection. SirGolf may recommend Dunes for golfers who would not enjoy the repeated long-game demand.

The round in practice

Where the character becomes clear.

Scorecard facts matter, but the experience is defined by how the design, hazards and operating conditions influence the decisions on the ground.

03

Sustained placement across a longer card

Pines asks the group to maintain driving position and approach quality for longer. Choosing an unsuitable tee can turn strategic bunkers into repeated forced carries.

04

Bunkers and lakes frame the targets

The Sueno complex publishes extensive fairway, greenside and waste bunkering together with nineteen lakes. The effect is to make target selection clear without making every safe line obvious.

SirGolf pairing intelligence

The stays that keep this round practical.

Sueno Pines should be paired with a hotel that protects the quality of the golf day. These are the current SirGolf-listed bases that offer the strongest combination of access, atmosphere and suitability for the players travelling.

The SirGolf fit

How this course belongs in the itinerary.

Specific, useful guidance for deciding whether this page belongs on the shortlist.

05

Warm up within fifty metres of the hotel

The club is approximately 50 m from Sueno Golf Hotel and provides a 300 m driving range, large putting green and dedicated chipping and pitching areas.

06

Dunes changes the demand

Dunes shortens the card to 5,643 m and par 69. Scheduling it after Pines gives the group a different tactical day without changing hotel, clubhouse or transfer routine.
